While Hollywood and the like are celebrating their year of being creative,  so is the Townsville Arts Scene, with nominations now closed for the annual Townsville Arts Awards.  This year, I have the honour of co-hosting the awards alongside MC Legend and fellow Shakey Bill, Bernie Lanigan.  

Also on the Awards theme, we are so very grateful and honoured to be the only regional nomination in the 2011 Groundling Awards for "Outstanding Contribution to Queensland Theatre" for the Shakespeare Under the Stars event.  All the rest of the nominees are artists and companies based in Brisbane so we are thankful to all the support we have received from the Townsville public who got on-line and voted for us.  We are now in the final 3 nominations and voting closes this Friday.  Fingers crossed.  And if you haven't voted already, go to www.actorsgreenroom.net and help remind Brisbane that Queensland is a big state!!!!
